Desert Gold Gravel 3/8" Screened - Prices For TruckLoad Per Ton
12-25 Tons per shipment required for this price. We offer a Split Load Option from this quarry.
1 Ton is approximately 2,000 lbs.
This material is quarried in Central Arizona and is widely used in the Phoenix, Tucson and Southern California landscaping industry.
The Desert Gold gravel name suffers a lot of abuse in the stone yard industry, the correct material for this product belongs to a quarry in Central Arizona and this is a widely used in the Phoenix and Tucson markets with bulk shipping into the Southern California landscaping industry.
There are many re-sellers in Southern California who in order to hide the source of their material call Pyrite Gold Gravel "Desert Gold." These two materials do not look anything a like, Pyrite Gold is a great gravel but not nearly as rich in gold and bright color quartz colors in Desert Gold.
There are also some re-sellers in Northern California who in order to hide the source of the granite gravel they are selling call their material "Desert Gold." Perhaps they should just call it Coastal Gold since that granite gravel is quarried in the Monterey County region.
The use of decorative rock as a landscape ground cover or rock mulch to save water needs to be attractive to be effective. We believe that in most residential landscape and garden installation circumstances this is best done with 3/8" screened rock. As a general rule of 3/8" of pebble material will generally cover a little over 100 square feet of an ground area at a 2" depth.

Using decorative rock, decomposed granite, crushed stone and gravel, in your landscaping saves you time and money but can also increase property value. Grass is great and a healthy lawn is a vital part of most homes, but usually best for small areas in the back yard to relax on. In front and side landscape area it requires regular mowing, fertilizer, and irrigation that can be eliminated.

Earth Stone & Rock offers a largest possible selection of decorative stone materials in sizes and colors to choose from. If you don't see exactly what your are looking for on our site, just ask us, we should have that material in our quarry vendor data base.

Landscape supply yards are infamous for providing buyers with horrible rates of measurement. In nearly all cases they tell you that "their" scoop or skip is the best deal around and that they always give a little extra. Nothing could be further from the truth. All companies that buy at the wholesale level in our industry pay for their rock by the ton. When buy rock by the tone you are buying value, not hype.

Almost any quarry that sells quality rock with a good reputation has a certified scale for weighing large truck loads of rock material. Each "scale house" or "weigh master" issues a weight ticket for the truck passing over the scale. Selling materials by mythical measurements such as the "scoop" or "skip" is the snake oil salesman in the rock yard method for making a quick buck off buyers.
When you pay for materials by ton you know exactly what you are getting. We strongly urge buyer's to request a scale receipt for their orders and not the word of the tractor operator that he put 4 or 5 skips, scoops or yards in the truck.
