These sands are chosen particularly for jumper arenas. This sand goes through an extra process of washing and drying to yield the best quality sand for arenas.

We sell premium horse arena sand products that come from ancient alluvial sand deposits, not crushed rock or manufactured sands. Not all sand is really sand, a lot of sand materials are wash rock fines, these will compact down into very hard surfaces. These sand materials have been washed clean of silt and soil. Sand colors vary by regional quarry considerations from white off-white to silver grey or to tan and with black granules. While the color of the sand may vary from region to region the character of the sand remains the same through standardized specifications for the production process regarding material size and washing of the sand. Washed arena and bedding sand also known technically as ASTM C-33 Sand, is coarse sand by design and will meet the objectives of almost all horse area disciplines.

All arena sand materials we sell have been run through a sand-washing system to remove silt and other impurities. This material has been used for hobby riders, horse stalls, and professional arenas. It is a looser footing due to the coarseness. It is also low dust material since the silt and fines have been washed out of the sand, this requires less maintenance. Also, it mixes well with an older worn out footing. Wash arena sand mixes well with footing amendments and additives such as Martin Collins products.

Tons vs. Yards and Square Feet.
In most cases, we charge by the ton and we have the receipts from the scale house at the quarry to show upon request. Materials sold by the yard tend to have very inaccurate amounts in the trucks. Amounts depend on the size of the loader bucket, how well the material was scooped up, and who was supervising the loading of the truck. Scale House totals don't lie, so why take a chance on losing money and time with how many square feet, scoops, skips, and or dumps were made in loading the truck?
Architects, public agencies, contractors, and owner-builders requiring a competitive bid for the materials and transport costs should E-mail us with material specifications, the amount and date needed, and the buyer's contact information. We typically employ trucks with carrying capacities ranging from 17 to 26.5 tons.

Product Samples
California Building Material Supply believes that for most consumers and end users of these landscaping or building material products, the best location to view most of these products is at the actual site where they are going to be used. This is particularly true for existing homes and commercial locations that are being renovated or re-landscaped. Samples of most materials can be delivered and evaluated by you on-site for you to make the most informed choice possible. Materials are sold per the specification of the stone type, product brand, and basic sizes.

Samples are shipped via United State Postal Service, Priority Mail. We can get about 16 pounds of material into a large flat-rate box. Samples are sent with an invoice on Net 10-Day Terms. When ordering your samples use the Purchase Order function at checkout and enter SAMPLES. This will allow you to make a purchase without having to pay for the samples at that time.
