Rain Country Golden Pearl Bocce Blend - Bulk Price Per Ton will call or dump truck shipping 1 Ton Covers 100 to 150 Square Feet
A detailed Spec sheet of the blend is given below.
The recreational use of an Italian Bocce Ball Court provides an excellent way to spend afternoons and evenings having backyard fun with family and friends. This Wet Climate Rain Country blend is made up of Decomposed Granite 1/4" Minus blended with premium quality marine composted crushed oyster shell flour and washed concrete sand. We use a higher percentage of oyster flour in this blend than in our Dry Climate Blends. This produces a good draining but still results in the typical traditionally Italian bocce ball court. This mixture is installed over a layer of standard 3/8" minus decomposed granite to a depth of 1-1/2 to 3 inches, which equals 1 ton of blended material per 100 to 150 square feet. The role that oyster flour plays in bocce court surface mixtures is to keep the decomposed granite from becoming extremely hard and unworkable for grooming. The oyster flour keeps the decomposed granite from completely binding together. Through the normal course of play; ruts, troughs, and material displacement takes place. Our decomposed granite oyster flour blend is in traditional Italian bocce ball court surface formula. When groomed out it makes a smooth solid surface to play on. When play is completed it makes for an easy surface to quickly renovate. We are also able to ship all of the other materials needed for installation and maintenance to you. Installation and maintenance services are available. Our staff is available with free rental tools to assist you or your contractor with an installation.
Oyster Shell Flour Oyster shell flour is applied over the top of the finished court surface at the rate of 1/4 to 1/2 pound per square foot resulting in a thin layer of finely crushed oyster shell flour for a very smooth playing surface. However, this should not be done during periods of seasonal rainfall since it will be quickly washed into the oyster shell and decomposed granite mixture.

Tons vs. Yards and Square Feet. In most cases, we charge by the ton and we have the receipts from the scale house at the quarry to show upon request. Materials sold by the yard tend to have very inaccurate amounts in the trucks. Amounts depend on the size of the loader bucket, how well the material was scooped up and who was supervising the loading of the truck. Scale House totals don't lie, so why take a chance on losing money and time with how many square feet, scoops, skips, and or dumps were made in loading the truck? Architects, public agencies, contractors, and owner-builders requiring a competitive bid for the materials and transport costs should E-mail us with material specifications, the amount and date needed, and the buyer's contact information. We typically employ trucks with carrying capacities ranging from 17 to 26.5 tons. Decomposed granite, crushed rock, gravel, sand, and similar materials are typically hauled in; Truck n Transfers from 24 to 26.5 tons, End-dumps from 24 to 25 tons
