  • Build the base first. A graded, compacted base with a drainage panel or underpad is what keeps a lawn flat and draining.
  • Seam with the grain aligned. Match the blade direction across rolls, then tape and glue the seam tight so it disappears.
  • Fasten the perimeter. Stake or nail the edges every few inches so the turf cannot lift or shift.
  • Edge for a clean line. Bender board or steel edging gives a crisp border against beds and hardscape.
