What Earth Stone Rock sells
Earth Stone Rock is a California landscape material supplier. The categories above cover decomposed granite, landscape rock and gravel, boulders, river rock and pebbles, flagstone and pavers, sand, bark and mulch, garden soils, synthetic turf, bocce court surfaces, fire and water features, and a full nursery plant line. Most of it is quarried or grown in the Southwest and sold direct from our own yards rather than through a middleman.
How landscape material is sold
Nearly everything here is sold four ways, and which one you want depends entirely on the size of the job:
- Samples so you can see a colour in your own light before committing.
- Bags for small repairs, planters and top-ups.
- Pallets and super sacks, usually a half ton to a ton, which ship nationwide on a truck.
- Bulk by the ton or truckload, which is by far the cheapest per ton and is quoted to your address.
Stone is priced by weight rather than by volume, so a cubic yard of one material does not weigh the same as a cubic yard of another. If you have measured an area and need to know what to order, the coverage calculator converts length, width and depth into cubic yards and tons, and cubic yards vs tons explains why the two differ.
Delivery and yard pickup
Palleted material ships nationwide. Bulk and freight orders are quoted individually, because the cost depends on distance, weight and how a truck can reach the site. Pickup is available at the Visalia and Rosamond yards in California. Plants are the one exception to nationwide shipping: under CDFA rules, Southern California nursery stock cannot ship directly north of Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties without additional requirements and charges. The FAQ covers delivery timing, access and payment in detail.
Choosing between categories
If you are still deciding, start from the job rather than the material. Decomposed granite compacts into a firm walkable surface and is the usual answer for paths and driveways. Landscape rock and gravel is a permanent low-maintenance ground cover. River rock handles drainage and dry creek beds. Boulders give a bed its structure, and flagstone and pavers are what you walk on. Nursery plants are what goes between all of it.
Every category page carries its own buying guide, comparison table and FAQ. The landscaping guides go deeper on installation, and samples settle colour questions that a screen cannot.
