Decomposed granite stabilizer and pathway binder for sale
Stabilizer is what turns loose decomposed granite into a firm, walkable pathway that does not wash out, track into the house, or rut under a wheelbarrow. It binds the fine particles together while still letting water through, so the surface stays permeable rather than sealing like concrete.
We carry both polymer-based liquid stabilizers and dry powder binders, sold by the bag, the 5 gallon pail, and the bulk tote. Which you choose depends on the job: dry binders are blended into the material before it goes down, liquid stabilizers can be applied to an existing surface.
How much stabilizer do I need?
Stabilizer is dosed by the weight of decomposed granite you are treating, not by the square footage of the path, so work out your DG tonnage first and then apply the product rate. That is different from every other material on this site, and it is the most common ordering mistake.
Our guide to stabilized decomposed granite covers dosing, mixing and installation. If you would rather not blend it yourself, most colors in our decomposed granite collection are available pre-stabilized as a variant option, which is usually the simpler route.
