Apache Red Rip Rap is angular rock in rich shades of dark and light red, screened at 4" to 10". Red at this scale is a deliberate design decision, and it gives a contemporary edge to a rock landscape that a brown or grey rip rap simply will not.
Landscape rip rap and rock rubble do real work beyond erosion control. They accent smaller rock sizes, create the borders and transitions between materials, build dry creek effects, and handle water diversion and run off. Used as a border or accent through a rock landscape, this size also reads as ground cover in a large planter bed. You will see it spelled riprap as often as rip rap, and both refer to this same class of stone.
