Grey Granite Rip Rap is a grey granite rock supplied at 12" and 15" to 18". At this scale the material is doing structural work first: holding a slope, armoring a bank against washout, and providing drainage and support behind a retaining wall.
Grey is the right rip rap color for Western and Southwestern landscapes where the surrounding rock reads cool rather than red, and granite is hard enough to hold its edges and its color through years of weather. These larger grades also work as rugged feature rock where a landscape needs real scale. Plan sets frequently spell it riprap; this is that material in grey granite.
