Premium Small fir bark comes in 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch and 1 inch sizes. Decorative fir barks are attractive and aromatic, and the small grade in particular is used to spotlight shrubs and flowering plants rather than simply to cover ground.
The size is what makes it useful in tight work. It suits narrow pathways and container plants where a medium or large bark reads coarse and out of scale, and it is a long standing favorite as a top dressing in pots and planters. Same function as the medium bark, smaller in scale.
